The Beltway Project, which is of great importance for our district, has begun.

Work has begun on the Erciyes Bypass Canal project to discharge the floodwaters coming from Erciyes before they reach our district. The project, which aims to protect Develi from floods caused by the Kalaycık and Yapraklı streams, which are side streams of Mount Erciyes, will include stacked stone revetment and concrete gravity flood protection channel, 8 slab bridges, and 3 culverts for road crossings. Our Mayor Adem Şengül stated that the project, prepared by the DSI 12th Regional Directorate 121st Branch and started by the contractor firm on the downstream side where the expropriation and land handover problem has been solved, is of great importance for Develi. “We are very pleased that the embankment project, which will prevent the negative consequences of the serious problems we experienced with the flood waters coming from Erciyes from happening again and will transfer the flood waters without them reaching our district, is being implemented. There will be 6 road crossings and "The 11.5 km long canal project, which will not disrupt traffic, is planned to be completed within 1 year. I would like to thank our Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Mr. İbrahim Yumaklı, our members of parliament, our Metropolitan Mayor, Mr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, the General Director of DSI, M. Akif Balta, the Deputy General Director of DSI, Faruk Fıratoğlu, the Kayseri Regional Director of DSI, Rahmi Şahin, and everyone who contributed to the realization of this project, which we need; I wish the project to be beneficial and auspicious for Develi from now on," he stated.
