20,000 heirloom tomato seedlings and 2,000 pine saplings, grown in cooperation with Kayseri University and Develi Municipality at the Seyrani Campus, were distributed to the people of our district in Cumhuriyet Square after Friday Prayer.

AK Party District Chairman Mehmet Toker and council members also participated; our fellow citizens, men and women, young and old, showed interest in the event and expressed their satisfaction with such a service.

Develi Mayor Adem Şengül stated that they organized this event to promote the production and consumption of non-genetically modified, organic vegetables and fruits for a healthier generation, adding, “The most important reason for distributing these tomato seedlings is the health of our citizens. The characteristic of these heirloom seedlings, produced to ensure that our citizens have easy access to healthy food and healthy products, is that they are not hybrids and can be re-seeded. Our fellow citizens will plant them in their own vineyards and gardens, grow their own produce, and support this health cycle by reusing the seeds obtained from the tomatoes they produce. I would like to thank the Rector of Kayseri University, Professor Dr. Kurtuluş Karamustafa, the Head of the Heirloom Seed Application Center, Associate Professor Dr. Handan Şapçı Selamoğlu, and everyone who contributed to this event; I wish my fellow citizens healthy and happy days with the tomatoes that will grow from the seedlings they received.” I hope they consume them," he said.
