Our fellow citizen, contract soldier Özgür Çelik, from Çomaklı Neighborhood, who was martyred as a result of a tragic accident in Çukurca District of Hakkari in 2021, was commemorated at his grave on the fifth anniversary of his martyrdom.
At the martyrdom visit, attended by our Develi Mayor Adem Şengül, his family and loved ones, the Holy Quran was recited, and prayers were offered for martyr Özgür Çelik and all martyrs.
Stating that martyrdom is the highest rank one can attain, our Mayor Adem Şengül said, “Our martyrs are our most exalted values who gave their lives for our homeland and sacred values. Our duty to them is to wholeheartedly embrace the values they sacrificed their lives for. I once again pray to God for mercy for our martyr Özgür Çelik, whose grave we are standing at, and for all our martyrs.” Our Mayor Adem Şengül visited the martyr's family home and offered his condolences to the family again.
