In accordance with Article 76 of the Municipal Law, the Develi City Council, which convened at the call of our Mayor Adem Şengül, elected philanthropist businessman and Seyrani Education Foundation President M. Suat Köylüoğlu as its president.

The meeting, held in the meeting hall of the District National Education Directorate, was attended by our District Governor Yusuf Turan, our Mayor Adem Şengül, district chairmen of political parties, NGO representatives, and village headmen. Their main functions are to discuss the problems of the city with common sense with the components and stakeholders consisting of various actors in the city; to provide environments of consensus among different stakeholders; and to establish new bridges and dialogue channels between public institutions and segments of society. Wishing that the first meeting of the City Council, which aims to develop democratic participation and strengthen civil society, will be beneficial, our Mayor Adem Şengül stated, “I thank all the stakeholders who came together with the principles of developing the city's vision and civic consciousness, protecting the rights and laws of the city, sustainable development, environmental awareness, social assistance and solidarity; I wish success to my elder brother Suat Köylüoğlu, who was elected as the President of the City Council.”
